I'll get right into it, after owning these a couple months they are disappointing. The sound is good but the build quality is crap. I took extra care to make sure they would hold up because I'd heard the reviews about them being poorly made and even so the mic cable still shorted out. For a good two weeks all was well, set up was not bad, if you've hooked up your tv, xbox, pc, whatever you can handle it. I was very happy with the sound I was getting and the separate game/chat volume was a god send, but then the mic cable started crapping out. First my friends would say "are you driving in a car with a window down" so I'd adjust the mic. Then it would be ok, but it got worse and worse until one day it was completely gone.
Trittons customer service has been practically non existent too and it's not like you can just order one of these cables or find them at the store. So I feel like I'm largely out 160$ and I'm pretty disappointed about it. I'd say stay away from these. I'm not sure what other head set to recommend but the build quality on these just isn't up to the price tag.

The price on this headset seems a little high until you get to use them. I went from the Turtle PX21 (good headset) to the Tritton AX pro's. The sound is so different it takes a little time to get used to them and get them correctly adjusted for your use. After a couple of days I could hear the difference and was able to use them to their full advantage. I use them for my PS3 and could hear the direction of unseen players while playing MW2 and COD4. The user guide was a little lite for all the adjustments on the control unit. Overall a very good headset and I hope they will hold up over the long run.

Received these headphones about 2 weeks ago and at first was Extremely displeased...key term is "at first". That was until I realized that merely turning my computer volume down a bit and turning these babies up was the key! If you had trouble hearing out of some lame-oh headset before buying these, then your volume may be turned way up and these things will make a sssss sound whenever someone uses the letter s. like simon went to the store is, ssssssimon went to the sssstore. Even when the volume was super low on the headset. I was about to return them when I thought of a previous post another user had said about them. I turned the computer volume down to about 75 percent and Presto! World of difference. I can hear enemies direction almost all the time. Haven't had a problem since... except when I turn them on theres a click thats pretty loud but that is about it. Surround is awsome and the headset feels nicely made.

I got them for gaming purposes. I own just 2 video game consoles. The original Xbox and a 120gb PS3 slim. It's receiver is hooked up to my 42" LG LH90's optical audio output. Playing games with the headphones is so much better. I hear everything around me when playing fps games. I can pinpoint where the enemy's are. After using them to play games, I watched some dvd and blu ray movies. Listening to 5.1 Dolby Digital sound from these was a nice change, when comparing them to just using the hdtv's speakers. I'd recommend them.
