"Steer clear from anything Razer!" 2010-08-31
By Julian A. Pirano (Syracuse, NY)
I used to be a diehard razer fanboy. I loved their old mouse, the Razer Copperhead. I used one of those until the clicker ceased to click. Being an FPS and RTS player, I need a mouse with good twitch and smoothness. For the price, the lachesis does not live up to the hype.

After only 1 year of regular average use, my lachesis moves without being touched as in, the mouse pointer flys around the screen without any input from me. Just about everytime my computer boots up, the mouse is not recognized or it just wont move, so I have to replug its USB in over and over.

Ontop of this, the mouse is just shaped horribly. You know how when something is designed to be okay for everyone, it ends up being good for nobody? Thats this mouse. Its ergonomic shape is designed for leftys and rightys, making us righty majority fumble around with a mouse that just feels uncomfortable.

Overall, if I could give this mouse a score it would be a zero. If I could give Razer a score, it would be -1.

 "Razers are amazing!" 2010-08-26

I truly love this product. When I first got it, I wasn't sure how the ergonomics felt because I wasn't used to it. Now I can't imagine using anything else and its ambidextrous.

 "cant live without" 2010-08-12
By Adam
I got this mouse when I bought my Alienware Aurora M9700, and have had it for a little over 3 years now. This mouse is by far the best mouse I've ever used, I've taken it on vacation with me to me places. I don't ever brag but when it comes to this mouse, I literally complain when I do not have it where ever I am. I've used this mouse almost every day since I got it and amazingly it has had no defects and has NOT worn out the buttons, it looks exactly the same as I got it out of its box.

If you have never used this mouse you absolutely don't know what a quality mouse is.

 "Poorly Shaped" 2010-07-21
By Anonymous
I had previously owned a Razer Copperhead mouse which I loved and am still continuing to use. However, after 3 years of use it was starting to act a bit funny, so I decided to purchase a new mouse. The Lachesis looked to be the most similar current model to the Copperhead. However, the shape of the mouse it awful. The body is too long, too low, and too wide. Because the body is so long, you have to move your hand very far forward to use it, and because the profile is low, you can't rest your hand on the mouse because but have to keep hovering over it in a very uncomfortable position. Also, the body is too wide. On the Copperhead I can tuck my thumb and pinky under the sides to move the mouse, but on this one you have to splay your finger much wider to reach the sides. I'm a guy and have big hands and this was still a problem for me.

The main buttons are also very stiff and require a lot of force to click. After an hour or two of use in a day my hand and wrist would start to really hurt and remain sore for a long time. I've never had a similar problem with any other mouse. Razer makes good mice, just don't buy the Lachesis. I will be returning mine.

 "Razer lachesis ups downs" 2010-06-21
By Grant A. Rogers
the Razer Lachesis is the ultimate Fps (first Person Shooter) mouse.

UPs

Complete customization of all keys

4000 DPi

custom polling rate(makes less response time)

easy driver interface

easy to clean

allows perfect grip for both hands

Downs

scripting tool causes only the script to be run rending the mouse useless while running the file

doesn't work on all mouse pads

needs excessively clean surface

does not work with small hands (if i were 15 this mouse wouldn't fit my hand)

i would give this mouse a 4.5
