"Logitech Freedom 2.4GHz Cordless Joystick" 2010-07-10
By Godholio (lowtax's dungeon i told you i was hardcore rawr!!1!)
I bought this to replace my previous joystick...the same model, which lasted through about 7 years of abuse before finally calling it quits. There aren't many options out there for wireless joysticks, but even if there were I'd recommend this one. The tri-point base is very stable, it doesn't slide on any desk I've had, the buttons and each axis are responsive. Battery life on the 3 AA batteries is good-I've switched over to rechargeables almost exclusively, and had them in the joystick for at least 2 years. They would last for several weeks at a time; obviously the more you play, the shorter their duration. Recalibrating and programing is fairly easy with the included software, but I don't think I ever used it after my initial purchase years ago. The stick can be programed in the games I used it for, so that's how I did it. The USB receiver can stay hidden out of sight behind your PC tower with no reception issues. I never noticed any lag between input and reaction, and I primarily used it for online gaming.

This is actually the second replacement I bought. The first one worked for about two days then stopped working at all. I had to return it and buy another, but I've been using this one for a few weeks and it's back to the good old days. I still recommend it for anyone looking for a cordless joystick or any kind of joystick smaller than a Saitek setup.

"Cody's Review for Logitech Freedom 2.4 GHz Cordless Joystick" 2010-05-12
By Cody Humphreys (Shoshoni, Wyoming)
I was tempted to buy this joystick mainly because it was cordless. I don't like cords running along my desk. When installed this joystick make sure to restart your computer because in the instructions it doesn't tell you to do so. You need to do so in order to move on to the next step. So after that little confusion everything worked just fine. It responds very well in my Flight Simulator X.

Appearance:

The joystick itself is the same size as the PRO version. The base is smaller and it has less keys. Also there was no grips on the bottom so it easily slides when you move the stick part of it.

4/5

 "Great Joysitck" 2010-02-21

My grandsons are using the joystick with Flight Simulator X. I normally use the Saitek X52 which has more features, but I find the cordless Logitech Freedom to be great fun when runnig FSX on my 46" HDTV. You can't beat it for the price.

"Great and Responsive Joystick, but too Fragile" 2010-02-20
By Benjamin Sisko
I think the title of my review says it all. This is a well designed joystick and very responsive, but they just don't last. I'm not one of those gorilla gamers who have to duct tape their joysticks down to a table either. I'm been through several of these and I'm guessing I get six months on them before they start going bad (as opposed to my old SideWinder 3D Pro stick which lasted for several years). The reason I kept buying them is because of their response, portability (no chord), low profile (doesn't take up a lot of room), button layout, feel, and a great driver which really allows you to tweak the sensitivity and map the buttons.

I quite gaming, but if I ever got back into it, the first thing I'd do is look for an updated version of this joystick.
