 "Very nice headset" 2010-08-18
By Eric Blair (USA)
Excellent sound and a good value. One caveat: if you connect your 360 via HDMI, you may have to get an extra cable to make it work. the easier option Is to check if your TV has Audio Out red and white outputs, if it does, you're golden, setup will take 2 mins., tops.

 "Turtle Beaches X11" 2010-08-18

Got these for my boyfriend as an anniversary present. He loves them, and I find myself using them more than he even does. The sound is great, and the mic works great. They have a nice heavy quality feel to them. They plug into my surround sound easily so I can have all the sound either come out of my surround sound or the headset easily. We've only tried them on our Xbox 360. I know they work with a computer but we just haven't gotten around to that yet. I haven't read anywhere where it says you can use them with PS3 and I'm pretty sure you can't. But they do have a USB cord so you might be able to use some of the PS3's features. We haven't tried it yet. We started using these on July 25th 2010 probably every day for a little while, and now every now. But definitely every weekend, and they hold up fine, no problems or signs of wear on the outside or the mic and sound quality.

The only thing we don't like about this headset is the ridiculous amount of cords, and the where the switch is to turn off the mic.

You have a cord from the headset to your controller, then those two cords combine for like 16ft and then split up again with a USB end and a mic and headset plug in for PC. It also splits from that same split into the red and white audio plug ins that you can plug into your TV or surround sound if you want all the sound to go to the headset. The switch to turn off the mic or turn up the game sound or chat sound is located the long part of the cord. It's just this little white plastic piece that has a switch on the side and the volume wheels on the other. The annoying part about it being on the cord is when your playing and someone in the room tries talking to you, and you have to reach down and try and get the plastic piece and switch the mic off or turn down the game sound. Sometimes when you go to turn the mic off you accidentally roll the volume wheels so it can either get louder or when you go back to playing after taking to someone in the room you realize you accidentally turned down all the volume and can't hear anything. It gets rather annoying very quickly. I would recommend zip ties to solve the cord problem problem, especially if you sit kind of close to your TV (like less than 10 feet). and maybe making the plastic volume control piece be closer to you and not tangled up in a bunch of cords. You'll probably still run into the problem with accidentally turning down the volume when you turn off and on the mic. But if you don't' mind that, the headset itself is great.

"Great first headset, few flaws" 2010-08-13
By Anthony
For a first headset this was a great value. I had it for 3 days now and it has made my game a lot better. You can hears footsteps really well in Call of Duty and Battlefield. It has crisp sound coming from a comfortable headset. The earcups are perfect and fit over the ears really well. The head set didn't get too annoying for long periods of time, however the big amount of wires are a bit annoying, and you don't have the freedom to move around as you would with a standard mic or if I bought the X31 or X41.

There are also a few flaws I've noticed. The mic is extremely sensitive. Your friends WILL hear background noises (like your parents or a sibling) and this is a bad thing. Also my friends have been complaining about hearing a blowing/buzzing noise when I talk. Some friends notice it more than others. Also, when listening the others chat it sounds different, and really fuzzy over the headset, its sometimes hard to make out what your friends are saying. In addition to that a feature that let's you hear what your saying is not really necessary and I don't like to hear my self, so it may be a good or bad thing to your personally.

Overall this is a great headset for the price. If you want to try out a headset this is a great first choice. I rate it 4/5 because of the chat functions otherwise it had great sound and I definitely recommend it.

 "Pretty good headset" 2010-08-10
By Justin Winford (Norfolk, VA)
First off, Amazon Prime is great. Ordered these yesterday evening and got them this morning using the 3.99 next day. For the price the headset is really good. No other alternative in the price range. They come with a very long primary cable, the chat cable, and the hookup required if you are using the RCA audio cable. If your are like me and use a HDMI PC Monitor with built in audio speakers and audio out jack, you will need to purchase a stereo cable with a male connector at one end and a female connector at the other. Luckily I had an old one around. Once they were connected, I tested a few games. As stated in so many other reviews, the headphones do make a hissing sound when powered. The sound can't be heard during game play, just outside of it. I haven't tested it with movie watching or music listening but I'm sure the hissing isn't present during this either. Once in the game these things can get loud! The sound quality is pretty good. I did notice a bit of crackle when explosion happened but this was before I adjusted the game volume and monitor volume. After a quick adjustment the crackle went away. I haven't had a chance to test the chat as far as me talking to other players, but the people who were talking sounded nice and clear and it didn't obstruct with the game play. If so there is a separate volume adjuster on the cord for chat.

Overall build quality is good. Not the sturdiest, seeing as how they are all plastic but, as long as your not handling them rough they should last. They do fit snuggly over the ear which is nice. You'll just have to pull them off every now and then to get some cool air on your ears, lol. Overall, for the price you can't beat them. They are the perfect affordable headset for your xbox console. I wouldn't recommend them for PC use b/c there are better alternatives to this. As for gaming on your xbox they are almost a must have because you will certainly hear things a lot clearer which will add to your game experience. I think once all the adjustment are correct they'll be perfect. I'm pleased with my purchase.
